After taking a one-year hiatus, the Breakfast was Back! On Sunday, April 29, a crew of volunteers conducted the breakfast. Some 450 people enjoyed eggs, sausage, and pancakes with fruit toppings available.
Of course, the planning by the co-chairs Barb Smith Novotny ('83), Terry Feriancek ('66), and Don Erickson ('81) began a couple months earlier. That included lining up food; getting supplies such as paper plates, etc.; rounding up many door prizes; and locating many other volunteers to cook and serve the breakfast. The best estimate is that we had help from 53 adults and 31 South High students helping with serving coffee and clearing the tables.
A list of the major contributors will be published in the Fall Newsletter, due out in September.
Those who attended has the chance to preview a model of the athletic field as it will look after this summer's renovation. The model and its development were ably described by a student in the Project Lead the Way program.
South Spirit wear was also available for purchase as well as ceramic items made by South student artists.
Thanks to all who helped make this event a success!
